Elementary OS is indeed the most beautiful Linux distribution ever made. Unlike other distributions, it uses Pantheon as a desktop environment. It looks similar to mac os, in past, I have tried the older versions of Elementary OS in the past but was not that much impressed with it. With the release of its beta 2 version, I am pretty sure the elementary OS 6 Odin can be the next big OS of Linux. Below are my reasons:
The dark mode option in elementary OS 6 is very awesome. The developers have done a tremendous job in polishing it. Likewise in the other Linux distros, you can easily toggle between the modes. But I must say elementary OS 6 has integrated it much better.
The App Center of Elementary OS 6 has gone really great. Now with AppCenter and Flatpak, apps will be installed per user and it wont need any permissions to download. So you don't have to type your password to get apps or their updates and the app will be restricted from accessing the system or personal files.
The developers have created a noticeable improvement in the UI of Elementary OS 6. Below are some of the screenshots from the beta2 release.
There are lots of improvements in the installer of Elementary OS 6. Its my best installer of any Linux distro tried till date. Here are the below screenshots of that.
There are other improvements as well like App center is now leveraged for developers, many bug fixes. Waiting for the release of Elementary OS 6, and I hope it will match up with the expectations and indeed can become one of the best distributions of Linux. Our current picks for Best Linux distros, hope impressions of the elementary os 6 release will make us change that.
